RSCA Foundations Course Listing:

Foundations 1 - This is the first course of the Foundations series. The one-semester course is open to students in grades 9-12, and will focus on the theme of identity. Students will study what the Bible says about identity as the foundation, explore what great authors have written about identity, and create a multi-genre research project illustrating what they have learned.

Faith in Action - This one-semester course is second in the Foundations series, and guides students in exploring how to live out their faith practically. Students will participate in a service project related to their interests and passions.

Senior Capstone - This one-semester course is open to 12th graders and represents a culmination of students' education to this point. Senior Capstone gives seniors the opportunity to demonstrate the development of their vision of what is next for them in life based on their Christian identity.

A University-Model® School

The University-Model® is a five-day academic program. Our secondary students (Grades 6-12) attend classes three days on campus and two days at home. Our elementary students (Grades K-5) attend attend classes at RS two days per week and complete the other three days at home. Teachers plan and provide assignments for at-home school days and are available for support.

RSCA students attend class Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Additionally, there is an optional study day held on Mondays which allows students to work on their homework and projects under teacher supervision.

This model combines the best attributes of traditional schooling with the best attributes of homeschooling, integrating  both into one model. The result is a quality, cost-effective, college-preparatory education that provides parents with time for imparting their own faith and values to their children. Rock Solid values families and appreciates the importance of family time. We know that the fulfillment of God’s purposes on the earth depends on godly families who know Him and make Him known.

“The University-Model® is perhaps more reliant on parents than anything else in the education of children. Because the UM returns the gift of time to families, parents have the opportunity and the means to powerfully influence their children’s academic, moral, and spiritual success."

The key to the success of the University-Model® concept involves the integration of a biblically-based, parentally-guided, Christian faith and a sound, teacher-directed, academic environment. Teachers are in charge of all direct instruction in the central classroom, while encouraging, training, and expecting students to learn the material assigned through independent practice and lessons at home. The University-Model® helps parent to “succeed in their Biblically mandated roles (Deuteronomy 6: 6-7) as the primary guardians of their children’s education. In the UM school, these roles change as the student moves through the various grade levels."

Rock Solid parents are not alone! We walk alongside our parents throughout this important journey. RSCA offers ongoing support to families through frequent workshops and training sessions designed to inform and encourage our parents. We also offer guidance counseling for college preparation and assist with the search for scholarships and grants.

Academic Program Parent Responsibilities:

A Focus on Discipleship

Rock Solid strives to demonstrate a Christian worldview through everything we do, from academics to community outreach. Every other Friday students gather for a variety of Chapel activities including guest speakers from the Christian community, prayer, and student-led worship. We also provide the opportunity for students to go on mission trips, attend leadership camps, and engage in other faith-growing experiences. Our aim is to provide an environment where faith can grow, and to produce students who will become spiritual leaders in a world where many young people are abandoning their faith.

Additionally, our students participate in several community service projects throughout the school year. Students who earn a RSCA Diploma and complete certain requirements will be awarded Community Service Honor Chords to wear at the Graduation Ceremony.
